Coatepeque

The next morning we woke up on time and all but didn't leave the town til 8:30. Rigel has been having some trouble keeping his front tire tight because of how the front rack fits. The rack rubs against the quick release causing it to never be truely tight. So taking as many buses as we have where we take off the front tire for transport has made it more difficult keeping it tight. So that morning while trying to tighten it, again, the quick release snapped right off making it impossible for Rigel to ride his bike. So much for beating the heat...
So he took his tire and broken quick release and went in search of the mechanic we rode by the day before. Long story short he found a bike mechanic who took him to the nearest city which had a bike shop, paid 2 bucks for a new better quick release and drove him back to the church. Again so far people here are very generous and nice.
The rest of the day was spent riding towards Coatepeque in a good amount of heat. Multiple shirt soakings and electrolite packs were required. Near the end of the ride about 4km from Coatepeque while we were having lunch Bryan and Maggie came rolling in. After a nice chicken dish with coconut water we rode with them into town, well almost to town. We all had to take cover for the storm that had started. Ok back on the road, uphill to town. Found a nice hotel with a kitchen, made some food, showered and went to sleep.

Tuk-tuks!
